A Whole Lot of Dirt | School District U-46

Another one bites the dust… or maybe just a whole lot of dirt!
Work at Larkin High School Stadium has been digging into high gear these past few weeks as crews tackled excavation for the stormwater detention system. Once the digging wraps up, layers of stone are placed and compacted, the stormwater system is installed, and embedment stone is added around it before final fill brings everything up to grade. From first scoop to final elevation, the whole process takes about a week!
There’s plenty more action ahead at Larkin Stadium, and with summer heating up, so is construction. Stay tuned!
