Throwback Thursday – Triton College

Today’s #throwbackthursday highlights Triton College’s Student Center Renovation that was completed in 2017.

Triton’s existing student center was dark, crowded, and underutilized. The center was also not an accurate representation of the college’s forward-thinking vision, so ARCON was challenged to enhance student support spaces, as well as improve the user experience upon visiting the college.

The corridor was widened in order to provide more waiting space, and to allow natural light to move deeper into the interior. Student support spaces such as admissions, financial aid, registration, counseling, and cashier, as well as staff spaces were reorganized and labeled in order to create efficiency and clear direction. Dedicated spaces for student government and veterans were created so that student-run organizations could have a proper home.
