Western Trails Elementary School Innovation Center

The original library at Community Consolidated School District 93’s Western Trails Elementary School had difficulty supporting and aligning with the current learning initiatives for the district. Our team was challenged to alter this space into a modern environment that provided for many needs, from individual learning to professional development. The solution: A new Innovation Center zoned into four main spaces: The Think Tank, Critical Thinking Area, Collaboration Lounge, and Seating Area, which collectively provides space for individual learning and teamwork. The renovations transformed the space to encourage and support creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
