As a part of a district-wide improvement plan, Kaneland CUSD 302 asked ARCON to design an 18,000 SF two-story addition to the existing Blackberry Creek Elementary School. The addition brings the capacity of the school up to 750 students utilizing fourteen new classrooms, several of which target special education and early childhood learning.
The addition was constructed to blend in with the existing building utilizing masonry materials that will stand the test of time. Other spaces include storage rooms, offices and bathroom facilities incorporating ceramic tiles which were hand painted by the students.
