Palatine High School Main Office Remodel

Palatine High School was in need of a renovation to their main office, as their existing space was unable to house all faculty and staff at a centralized location. The remodeled space was designed to promote collaboration among faculty and staff, and to create a cohesive work environment. Offices were organized into pods, with each pod housing a team comprised of counselors, psychologists, assistant principals, and social workers. Student-centered spaces were positioned to be more accessible to Palatine High School students. The existing faculty cafeteria was renovated as part of the project to include a new serving line and updated finishes.

A new canopy delineates the main entrance to the school, defining it among the several entrances along the main drive. It guides students and visitors into the space and improves the aesthetics of the south building façade. The introduction of interior angled walls and soffits further create a playful and welcoming environment, and make the previously obscure main reception area a more prominent space.
