Schaumburg High School Cafeteria Renovation

Schaumburg High School’s existing kitchen and cafeteria were outdated and in need of remodeling. ARCON worked with the district to create a modern, yet functional, space that could be utilized by students and staff throughout the entire day.

Renovation work included updating kitchen equipment, improving the functionality of the serving line, and creating a new cafeteria ambiance. The serving line layout creates an efficient flow of traffic, allowing students to pass through quickly during their limited lunch hour. New equipment allows food options to be displayed strategically to promote healthy choices. Features such as booth seating, high-top counter seating, and the addition of several areas for students to plug-in devices helps provide multiple areas for eating, studying, or working in a group. Wood ceiling accents and wood-look porcelain floor tile help warm up the space, creating a more comfortable “restaurant” dining experience in lieu of a traditional cafeteria setting.

Conant High School’s culinary arts lab was also renovated with similar equipment, furniture, and finish updates, creating a modern and functional hands-on learning lab for students.
