Numerous projects were completed at Glenbrook North and South High School as part of a 10-year building envelope repair program. Building systems at both schools were brought up to current standards for life cycle and energy efficiency performance. The repairs were occasioned by the deterioration of the various building systems from their initial installation. Repairs and replacements at both schools included such items as the replacement of old roofs with new modified asphalt, built-up membranes and tapered insulation, replacement of deteriorated wall panel systems, masonry and throughwall flashing repairs, and the replacement of swimming pool roofs.
Replacement of four major skylights, original to the building, were completed at Glenbrook South High School, and repairs to the precast concrete wall structure, and curtainwall replacements of the original deteriorated system were completed at Glenbrook North High School. Redesign and replacement of the Administration Building metal roof system was also done.
