Roof Replacement, Code Upgrade & Energy Conservation Systems

Triton College has been working with ARCON since 2004 to not only repair and replace the campus’s roofs, but to help establish new design standards for the college. Over the years, work has included such items as replacing aged ballasted single-ply roof systems, and installing new code compliant insulation and cold process built-up roofs. Both the existing roof ballast and existing insulation were recycled upon the end of their use, in turn providing a cost savings to the college. ARCON also installed new highly reflective aggregate roof surfacing. This system provided benefits which included tremendous energy savings for the operation of the rooftop HVAC units, increased rooftop safety for pedestrian traffic over reflective single-ply membranes, and accelerated roof drying over reflective single-ply membranes.
