ARCON partnered with Nicholas & Associates in 2017 to assist Northbrook School District 27 with implementation of a long-range roof replacement program for the districts three schools.
Wood Oaks Junior High’s EPDM and built-up roof membranes were replaced on six roof areas. These roof areas had been experiencing numerous issues including leaking and roof top drainage issues. The existing roof systems were removed down to the structural steel decks and replaced with new flat stock and tapered roof insulation and a new multi-ply modified bitumen roof membrane with gravel surfacing. An air barrier was incorporated into the new roof system design along with additional roof drainage and increased roof insulation R-value to meet the code required R-30.
